How to upload and download .ciot files

Using .ciot files to view saved projects

Note: .ciot file upload and download is only avaliable in Path Analysis and Origin-Destination tools.

Downloading a .ciot File

To download a .ciot file, you'll need to run a query in either Path Analysis or Origin-Destination. You can run a query by selecting a road or two or more zones, depending on the tool you are using. Once you are in the Results Panel, you'll find the Export Data button at the top right-hand side of the panel. You will see the following export options:

  1. The Storage-Optimised CIOT replaces the zipped .JSON data. This means re-uploads of CIOT will now be faster. This data is further compressed to make the file as small as possible. We recommend this option for most users.
  2. The Raw CIOT option exports the data as pure .JSON. This is the preferred option for users who wish to inspect the data, or debug data inconsistencies.

Clicking the Storage Optimised CIOT or Raw CIOT options will prompt a file download to your computer that looks like the picture below. You can rename these files.

Troubleshooting

If the dialogue box is not appearing when trying to upload a .ciot, please check that your browser isn't blocking pop-ups. Similarly, if you have tried to download a .ciot file or .csv file and nothing seems to be loading, you may also need to allow file downloads in your browser. In Chrome, this often appears as an icon in your URL bar that asks users to allow pop-ups or allow downloads. Here's an example of what a pop-up block might look like:
